Partnership. Community. Support. These ideas sit at the very heart of Crossroads Outreach's mission to build healthier communities and walk alongside the hurting, lost, and broken. Today's Bible verse reminds us of the power and importance of joining together in service to one another:
"In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now." - Philippians 1:4-5
The Book of Philippians was written around 61-62 AD by the apostle Paul during his imprisonment in Rome. Paul founded the church in Philippi on his second missionary journey through Macedonia, making it the first church established in Europe. The church at Philippi was especially near and dear to Paul’s heart. Of all the churches, they remained the most loyal and generously supported Paul’s ministry.
Paul’s letter to the Philippians overflows with joy and gratitude for their “partnership in the gospel.” This was no casual connection between teacher and pupils, but a deep and lasting spiritual bond. Paul found immense joy in serving alongside the community of believers in Philippi. Together, they were able to accomplish far more than each could on their own.
The same powerful synergy applies to Crossroads Outreach today. When we come together in service, each contributing our unique gifts and resources, we can make an exponential impact. More people are reached, more lives changed, more hope restored. No one needs to carry these burdens alone.
We each have a role to play in building community, whether it’s volunteering time, donating resources, or simply offering words of kindness and support. Small acts of compassion gradually chip away at walls of loneliness and isolation. The hurting, lost and broken find help along the journey when others walk alongside them.
Crossroads Outreach stands ready to link arms with all who catch the vision. There is no limit to what we can accomplish when we heed Paul's call to partnership in the gospel. Just as the apostle took joy in serving with the Philippian church, so too we can experience the blessing of joining together to lift up our neighborhoods and communities. The time for partnership is now.
